4. Commercial metal characteristics
All the lead produced in France comes from recycling. The distinction between primary lead and lead from recycling is no longer justified in view of advances in refining techniques.
4.1 Qualities
Standard NF EN 12659 "Lead and lead-lead alloys" defines four grades of lead according to purity. Table 12 summarizes the standardized designations and chemical compositions corresponding to each of these grades.
