6. Conclusion
This article provides a theoretical basis for the design of retaining structures, presenting methods for calculating earth thrust and thrust bearing, and more specifically the thrust coefficients k a and thrust bearing coefficients k p (Mohr-Coulomb, Rankine, limit equilibria). Not all of these methods can be used in all cases, and must be prioritized according to the geometry of the walls, screens and embankments studied.
It should be borne in mind that the forces exerted depend on the possible displacements of the structures in relation to the soil/rock massifs selected.
