2. Tools

To decide which software to use, you need to define the level of accuracy you want before you start the dynamic thermal simulation. Each dynamic thermal simulation software has its own specific features, strengths and weaknesses.

Tools evolve very quickly, so we won't spend too much time listing their strengths and weaknesses, as they evolve with each new version.

Nevertheless, we would like to mention a few tools that are widely used on the market (see the Find out more fact sheet):

• TRNSYS: software particularly used for research projects or projects requiring precision (CSTB, highly qualified design offices...), not very user-friendly but with great openness and almost infinite capabilities;

IES-VE: perhaps one of the best tools on the market! user-friendly and comprehensive;
