5. Application example

The aim of this chapter is to demonstrate the benefits of temporary carbon storage in buildings by comparing a conventional wall solution with a highly bio-sourced solution. The idea is to show the potential for storing and limiting greenhouse gases in the atmosphere by substituting conventional materials with bio-sourced materials. As with any LCA*, this calculation must be based on an equivalent functional unit, in this case a m 2 wall, with the same order of magnitude of thermal resistance, a given structural function and a given lifespan.
