3.1 Instrumental

For a short laser pulse and a short detection system response time, the useful lidar signal s L retains the same form at all stages of the measurement chain: optical, electrical and digital. The digital signal at the end of the chain s L,n is written as a simple product. Each step contributes to measurement noise.
