5. Glossary
Émission stimulée; stimulated emission
Radiative process of deactivation of an excited state caused by an incident photon.
Delayed fluorescenceEmission whose spectrum is superimposed on that of spontaneous fluorescence, but whose long lifetime is characteristic of the triplet state that gives rise to the singlet state.
Fluorimetry
A technique for measuring the intensity of light emitted by a fluorescence process under stationary or time-dependent light excitation.
Near infrared
According to the definition of the International Commission on Illumination (CIE) recommended in the field of photobiology and photochemistry, the near infrared is the zone of the electromagnetic spectrum extending from 700 nm to 1,400 nm.
