5. Evaluation of collected data

The purpose of acquiring factual data is generally to initialize a calculation, to feed an evaluation system. We therefore need to ensure the quality of the data collected, in order to determine the degree of confidence we can place in it.

5.1 Data identification

Data can be :

  • measured during an experiment ;

  • calculated by various methods.

This data status is self-evident for numerical data, but it also applies to textual and graphical data.

  • Experimental data

    The user needs to know whether the value proposed to him is the result of an isolated measurement, an average or the measurement...
