2. Areas of use
For interiors, a distinction is made between wall and ceiling paints for dry rooms and wet rooms (WCs, shower rooms), where the decorative aspect is paramount, and floor paints.
In dry rooms, paints are matte or satin; in damp rooms, they are satin or gloss, as they are more resistant to humidity.
In both cases, these products are formulated from water-based binders: mainly acrylic derivatives and emulsion alkyds.
The DTU 59.1 defines the conditions for installing products, depending on :
Substrates,
the project: new or renovation work,
the appearance quality required by the client (color, gloss level, smooth, structured, etc.).
