4. Conclusion
For many years now, colloids (latex, magnetic particles, silica particles, fluorescent particles, etc.) have offered a wide range of potential applications, particularly in the therapeutic and diagnostic fields. The major advantage of these dispersed materials (simple or composite) lies in their high specific surface area, which favors their use as biomolecule carriers, particularly in biomedical diagnostics. Among these colloids, magnetic particles make a major contribution to the creation of diagnostic or analytical "kits".
Biomolecule-functionalized magnetic particles are intended to facilitate the steps involved in sample preparation and in vitro biomedical diagnostics. Using the magnetic properties of these particles reduces analysis time and automates diagnostic tests.
