This section presents examples of nanomaterial synthesis in microfluidic devices, ranging from semiconductor synthesis to metal nanoparticle synthesis. However, in order to understand nanoparticle synthesis phenomena, it is first necessary to present the various mechanisms that control the size, shape and (poly-)dispersity of nanomaterials during synthesis.
