1. Examples of incidents and accidents

The primary reason for interest in the risks and safety of activated carbon filters used in the treatment of VOCs in air is the report of incidents and industrial accidents. Indeed, previous publications and specific databases containing information on technological accidents report a number of examples. These generally occur on industrial sites where continuous solvent adsorption systems with in situ regeneration are in operation. These installations are used both to control polluted gaseous emissions and to recover organic solvents or purify fumes
