6.1 Volvo black, grey and white lists
Volvo uses three types of lists to better control the substances used in its components.

The black list represents substances or groups of substances that must not be used at Volvo; an extract is given in table 16 . New products containing substances listed here must not be put into circulation. Phase-out schedules with end-of-use dates are required for substances not yet completely banned at the time this list was compiled. Exceptions are possible for substances used in processes where regulatory or safety requirements limit Volvo's ability to prohibit their use.
