5. Choosing a crystallizer
5.1 Information required for selection
A crystallizer is a device in which a suitable environment is created to induce crystal nucleation and growth. The key to the design of such equipment is the way in which supersaturation is created at a temperature level that leads to the desired product.
For this, a certain amount of information must be obtained on the material to be crystallized and on the mother liquor.
The solubility curve of the product in the solvent in question, as a function of the temperature or pH of the solution, is an essential piece of information, as it enables you to choose the method for creating supersaturation (see paragraph
