5. Conclusion
In the preceding paragraphs, we have studied the case of the fluidized-bed reactors most commonly used in industrial practice. However, the methods described do not apply to the case of fast fluidization reactors, nor to the case of reactors used for the treatment of consumable solids with particle size change. Indeed, this type of reactor requires the application of models based on particle population balance equations, different from those described above.
In some cases, plant sizing depends above all on practical knowledge of the phenomena governing the system. This is the case, for example, with circulating beds, for which there are few models applicable to industrial reactors
