2. Basic calculation data

2.1 Operating conditions

These are determined from the reference . Safety requirements call for a very low orthoxylene titre in the feed mixture, close to 1%. The air/o-xylene mass ratio is of the order of 20. The orthoxylene feed rate can reach 6.67 × 10 –2 kg · s –1 per cubic meter of catalytic mass. The feed temperature is around 423 K.
