4. Conclusion

These three examples of calculations on two-phase agitation systems highlight the important role of certain parameters on the operating conditions of the agitated vessel. They also demonstrate that there is no single solution to the problem of stirring two-phase systems. Moreover, the invariant extrapolation criterion differs from one two-phase system to another.

It is essential to carry out this type of calculation before making a final choice of agitation system. In fact, to make this choice, other elements must be taken into account, such as economic considerations (investment and operating costs), and mechanical considerations (nature of the materials used for the tank, agitator, agitator shaft, etc.).
