Squid can also be equipped with software designed to filter access to prohibited sites more effectively than internal ACLs. We're thinking here more often of professional environments where access to pornographic sites, gaming sites, etc. is forbidden, in addition to sites that are systematically blocked because of their racist or pedophilic content. To achieve this objective, Squid can rely on a third-party software package called SquidGuard. This software has a large number of databases supplied by its users, and it's a good idea to create a script that merges all these different sources to create an even more effective database.
