3. XML syntax
The purpose of this paragraph is to summarize the most important aspects of XML instance markup syntax, excluding the syntax of declarations, which constitute the prologue. The French terminology adopted here for XML technical terms is that used in the French translation of the XML standard (http://babel.alis.com/web_ml/xml). For a formal and exhaustive definition of the language's syntax, please refer to the W3C specification
