3. Web interfaces

The architecture of applications developed for the Web is not an interface "model" in itself. The general architecture of the application and its interface is based on various models, in particular the distributed application model known as "client – server". It makes use of the reactive multi-agent model, offering developers a set of simple interactors for Web page development. Given the important role of the Web, the specific aspects of interfaces in application architecture are detailed here.

3.1 Historical background

Before becoming the most widely used means of interfacing remote applications, the Web was first and foremost a system for hypertextual access to remote static documents. It is characterized by a client-server architecture:
