Using the MDA approach (in fact, the MDE approach advocated by the OMG) in industry is a definite challenge. To date, some more or less successful attempts have been made, but we're not at the end of the tunnel yet. What's the situation?

In this dossier, we present a systematic and pragmatic method for modeling the semantics of programming languages based on UML and OCL descriptions, and its application within an IDM process where models are at the heart of software development.
