11. Conclusion

The Android platform is currently evolving very rapidly, with support for new sensors and the emergence of new development kits (neural network API). These changes demonstrate the platform's ability to adapt to new hardware and user needs. Nevertheless, the high rate of new releases is leading to significant market fragmentation. The growing number of versions of the same product ultimately makes the developer's task difficult.

Android's success is well established, however, and the system still has a bright future ahead of it. In 2017, the Android operating system had two billion active devices worldwide. At the I/O 2021 conference, Google announced that Android had just reached 3 billion active devices worldwide.
