4. Application example
4.1 Architecture
We propose here to design a simple application (figure 12 ) for consulting and updating a directory of business cards. The application must be able to be used from the Web as well as from a fat client, whether graphical or command-line. The application consists of two parts: the directory service and the various client applications. For simplicity's sake, we'll assume that this service is public, and that authentication is not required to access the directory.
