3.1 Obtaining information

Information on the various telephony-related services is obtained from the TelephonyManager class. This gives us the characteristics of the mobile link, as well as information on the phone's SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card.

The TelephonyManager class is obtained from the getSystemService function:

TelephonyManager telephonyManager=(TelephonyManager)

getSystemService(Context.TELEPHONY_SERVICE);
