6. Identify assets
6.1 What are assets?
Asset: any element that represents value for the organization (ISO/IEC 27002, § 3.1.2).
The important elements of an organization are the components of its capital (in the broadest sense), which enable it to carry out its activity. These are commonly referred to as assets.
A non-exhaustive list of assets is given as an example in table 3 .
