4. Organization of spectrum management in France
4.1 General organization – Basic principles
The radio spectrum is part of the State's public domain. Its use is governed by the Tableau national de répartition des bandes de fréquences, appended to a decree issued by the Prime Minister. This document allocates the various frequency bands to the various licensees.
For the purposes of this national table, an assignee is by definition a ministerial department (or a body representing it) or an independent administrative authority with access to one or more frequency bands:
