2. Other transduction principles

This paragraph deals with other transduction principles used in loudspeaker design.

2.1 Ribbon drivers

As with microphones, electrodynamic transmitters can be divided into two categories: moving-coil and ribbon systems. Ribbon loudspeakers are the reciprocal of microphones of the same name (see Microphones article). in this treatise), are much less widely used than moving-coil sources, and only find applications at high frequencies.
