5. Conclusion

This article deals with signal processing processes applied to radar, their principles, the resulting reception techniques and their performance criteria.

It focuses on describing the phenomena involved, quantifying them on the basis of theoretical analysis, and presenting the reception processes that correspond to each case. It does not refer to specific technologies.

However, it's only thanks to the evolution of technology that these signal processing techniques have been able to move beyond the theoretical stage into concrete applications.

Linear filtering theories first appeared in the USA in the late 1950s. They were developed and refined throughout the 1960s. At the time, however, analogue methods were often of limited effectiveness.
