3.1 Google Tango project
Google's project aims to encourage the development of mobile hardware platforms running on the Android operating system, suitable for 3D motion tracking of the integrated camera and the construction of a three-dimensional map of the environment. In other words, a mobile SLAM platform.
Google is proposing a prototype smartphone, equipped with a 4 million-pixel camera, plus two additional sensors at the other end, a camera dedicated to tracking moving objects and a depth sensor (figure 11 ).
