3. ATSC receiver
The diagram at 11 shows an ATSC receiver; the main part of this receiver is the ATSC demodulator (or DMD), for which fully integrated solutions based on dedicated circuits are used.
The VSB-modulated signal is received by an antenna (or cable) and fed into a tuner, which transposes the signal to a frequency of 43.75 MHz.
The tuner output is applied to an AGC gain-controlled amplifier before sampling by a CAN converter.
