4. Conclusion

The importance of the first three downstream functions of a digital media and DMAM chain, presented in this article, translates differently depending on the function:

  • the acquisition and editing functions are decisive at the media level, the former for the quality of the source media after digitization, and possibly compression, the latter for the final composition of the product;

  • indexing-analysis is decisive when it comes to generating metadata.
