4.1 Digital accessibility, a legal obligation

Accessibility of the digital environment is a right, and a duty for signatory states of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRDPH). .

The commitments made by these nations, as well as by the European Union, imply that measures must be taken to promote and measure the implementation of equal access to digital services and products, irrespective of disability and the resulting technical conditions.
