2.1 Structure of a communication chain

Figure 4 summarizes the constitution of a communication chain.

  • The distribution network provides the means to connect the subscriber station or installation to the PABX. Depending on subscriber dispersion and traffic, concentrators or remote units can be used to perform this function in the distribution network.
