5. Regulations

The satellite world suffers from a regulatory framework that is ill-suited to the dynamics of contemporary technologies. Technological advances have virtually eliminated the regulatory power of a single state. International law is currently unable to find a solution. However, space technology must be regulated, including the notions of "authorization and continuous monitoring" for in-orbit service missions, and the unification of legal interception rules. Difficult situations for the international community could set harmful precedents and risk jeopardizing a thriving industry, which in turn could hinder the sustainable use of space.
