6. Multi-domain or multi-area management
One of the advantages of PCE is its ability to perform inter-domain or inter-area path calculations.
There are several possible architectures for addressing this issue.
6.1 Multi-domain/multi-area PCE
A single PCE can be used to manage several domains or areas. This PCE must therefore have a complete topological view of the domains/areas for which it is responsible.
The topological acquisition mechanisms seen previously can be used to give the PCE a global view.
