4. The future of military telecommunications

Advances in telecommunications technology are also being applied to military systems, the future of which remains largely undefined. The transfer of terminal and service technology from the civilian to the military sector is obvious, but the "network" aspects of military telecommunications also present major areas for progress in the short term (a few years).
