Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)
A connection-oriented transport protocol widely used for Internet communications, especially those corresponding to website consultation.

TCP option
A TCP option describes a particular function of the protocol and is usually encoded in the first messages exchanged between TCP terminals to establish a TCP connection. These messages announce the functional capabilities of a TCP terminal to its correspondent.
