5. Example of a call between a VoIP phone and a conventional phone

This section analyzes traces taken from a real network. SIP addresses and fields have been anonymized.

5.1 User registration

SIP user registration is described in table 1 . The user whose URI is [email protected] first registers by sending a REGISTER message (message no. 1). In the contact field, this message indicates the IP address and listening port number of the terminal hosting the UAC function (<0123456789>0123456789>
