2. Carrier Ethernet service attributes
The three founding specifications for Carrier Ethernet MEF services are : MEF 13, MEF 10.2 and MEF 6.2.
The first describes user input interfaces (UNI for User Network Interface ), the second details the possible attributes of an Ethernet service (its topology, frame management, supervision, performance measurement, etc.), while the last maps these attributes into the 6 standard MEF services.
This chapter will describe the various attributes before showing how they are incorporated into a standard Ethernet service (or EVC for Ethernet Virtual Circuit).
