1.1 Specification framework
As with 3G and 4G, technical specifications for 5G are drawn up and published by the 3 rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) in successive waves. All the documents in a given wave correspond to a Release (Rel). It is from Rel 15, officially published in June 2018, that the specifics of 5G are introduced.
