4. Analysis of results
Nowadays, every phase in the life cycle of a complex product incorporating electrical/electronic systems is accompanied by a number of analyses based on calculations or simulations of physical phenomena described mathematically and solved, more often than not, with the help of numerical calculation techniques implemented on computers. With regard to system EMC, from preliminary design, through to detailed design, choice of technologies, specifications to suppliers, qualification of sub-assemblies, certification of the complete system and maintenance under operational conditions, all phases can be accompanied by reasoning based on the resolution of the equations governing the behavior of electric and magnetic fields in space and time: Maxwell's equations.
