Improvement of soft spinel ferrites
Today, developments in Mn-Zn spinel ferrites mainly concern process improvements and associated technologies aimed at enhancing performance, such as lowering total losses, increasing permeability or saturation induction. To achieve this, manufacturers are improving raw material quality (purity, particle size) and synthesis resources (grinding equipment, furnaces), while fine-tuning chemical compositions. However, the composition diagrams used remain the same as 30 or 40 years ago, 20 years for nickel-zinc-copper ferrites. Overall, the quality of industrial soft spinel ferrites is tending to improve, and prices are coming down thanks to advances in production technologies.
