3. Filters

The specialist articles in this treatise [18][19][20] provide the information you need to understand the filtering techniques used here. We address ourselves more to users than to filter designers. A filter is a device whose attenuation and phase characteristics are highly frequency-dependent. In this case, the response must fit within a template imposed by the equipment.

Piezoelectric filters use resonators with high overvoltage - narrow bandwidth - and high stability compared with the traditional LC components from which they are derived. They feature high dynamic attenuation (60 to 100 dB between pass and attenuated levels), high selectivity and low insertion loss.
