8.1 Appendix 1: Methodology for calculating maximum NTC transfer capacities and Flow-Based domains
Both methods are based on a common principle: the scarce resource is the physical margin available in the transmission network structures.
The calculation of the physical margin for each network structure is based on the following methodology:
determination of a reference situation or base case, including at least the networks in the study area (and a guard ring made up of adjacent countries);
with different fault simulations (N, N – 1...), and, if necessary, consideration of countermeasures;
