2. Auxiliary devices used in counting

In all but the simplest cases, the meter is associated with various pricing accessories, formerly made up of discrete elements, but now more often than not integrated into the meter itself. We're going to look at the main devices still in use today, but also those currently under development.

2.1 Tariff management accessories

These are essentially time management devices that divide time into tariff periods for pricing purposes. To trigger a tariff period change, commonly referred to as a tariff change, an electrical signal must be sent to the meter.
