3. Power of resistance ovens

The evaluation of the heat balance, taking into account the characteristics of each component and configuration, leads to the following figures for a heating cycle or continuous operation:

  • the energy stored in the load ;

  • energy stored in the supports ;

  • stored energy and heat flux transmitted by the walls, vault and hearth;

  • heat flow and energy lost through joints, air inlets/outlets and door openings;

  • heat flux lost through atmospheric heating and thermal bridges (including cold passages in heating elements);

  • the heat flow lost through the cooling water.
