7. Spectrochemical analysis

This is probably the most widespread application of RF plasmas, with over 10,000 installations in service. These torches, with power ratings of around 5 kW, operate in the 28-40 MHz range, or even 60 MHz. Gas flow rates are less than 20 L/min, and the solution to be analyzed is injected into the central region of the torch (18 to 25 mm internal diameter) in the form of an aerosol produced by the piezoelectric effect.
