4. Supercapacitor manufacturing

On the whole, the various electrode materials and electrolytes that can be used in a supercapacitor are fairly well identified, although materials with optimized properties are gradually being introduced. The greatest progress over the last ten years has been made in shaping, assembly and connection techniques. The result is significantly improved performance, even for devices based on activated carbon and a conventional aqueous or organic electrolyte. Unfortunately, this is a field in which information remains fairly confidential. We shall therefore confine ourselves to the general principles of manufacturing.
