2. Solar energy

Every second, by transforming 700 million tonnes of hydrogen through an atomic fusion reaction, the sun produces energy equal to 386 billion billion megawatts (3.86 · 10 26 W). In the form of electromagnetic radiation, some of this energy reaches the earth's surface.
