2. Order transmission

As previously mentioned, only the galvanic isolation of the control signals of semiconductor components via transformers will be considered. This implies that the control signals have zero mean value, and that the waveform of the signals is such that they do not saturate the transformers. Also, firing and blocking commands are systematically transmitted by pulses of short duration and different polarity. To simplify explanations, the following convention will be adopted: a positive pulse corresponds to a firing command, and a negative pulse corresponds to a blocking command. This section looks at the various structures used to generate control pulses, as well as the stages involved in shaping these pulses.
