Enamelled wire testing is highly developed. In France, they are listed in standard NF C31-001 for round wires and NF C31-023 for flat wires, as either qualification, acceptance or complementary tests. In addition to assessing the fundamental qualities to be expected of insulation enamels, they are used to verify both the wire's processing characteristics and its service conditions.
